Professional Development

Taught by a dynamic group of Harvard faculty from across the professional schools at Harvard, these professional development course offerings are hosted by the Harvard Business School (HBS) and the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) for emerging and advanced leaders in the field. In the case of CSML and CAEL, the PELP Project has provided assistance in the development of the curriculum. PELP encourages leaders in your school district or organization to take advantage of these opportunities.

Professional Development Opportunities

Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership (CAEL)

CAEL offers a flexible online learning experience comprised of five distinct 12-week modules taught by HGSE faculty targeted at current and aspiring education leaders with the option to take individual modules or to take them collectively in pursuit of a certificate.

Program for Leadership Development (PLD)

This HBS program targets mid-career professionals identified within organizations as emerging leaders. Containing two online modules and two on-campus modules, PLD is a fast-track alternative to the executive MBA program for organizations that want to develop a robust pipeline of new leaders.

Driving Nonprofit Performance and Innovation - Virtual

To improve the effectiveness of a nonprofit organization—especially when tackling society's toughest challenges—senior executives and board members must prioritize assessment of organizational performance. In this live online program spread across five half-day sessions, you will explore how to align mission and strategy through performance measurement. This program is a collaboration between the HBS Social Enterprise Initiative and the Hauser Institute for Civil Society at Harvard University.
